Anomaly 2
Most of you are familiar with previous Anomaly games or how tower defense games work. Anomaly 2 is like any other tower defense games but instead of controlling towers you control the hordes of creeps. The game is fairly easy to play as you have the time to know how each of the creeps work because they are introduced slowly as the game advances. You have to strategically manage the composition of your convoy and the path they should take in order to successfully reach the destination without getting blown up on the way. After you figure out how each of the creeps and vehicles work, only half of your work is done as you also need to know how the enemy towers will behave when your convoy is getting close. You have to know tower’s rate of fire, damage rate, etc. There are abilities you need to command as well such as repair, diversion, etc. which you have to use at the right time to make them effective. Even though there aren’t many levels in Anomaly 2 but each of the level may take 30 minutes maximum to finish. The graphics are great but this is expected as the game’s size is more than a GB. The textures and particles are amazing and detailed. You can play this on your mid-range device probably without any decrease in performance and visuals.

Autumn Dynasty
Autumn Dynasty is another awesome strategic game set on the fictional world where people still use swords, shields and horses. You have to control your troops using the traditional birds’ eye view camera. However this does not mean the details are not considered. The map looks gorgeous which you have to see with your own eyes to believe. The controls are simple too – you just have to strategically create a path for your troops to follow. The game will correct you path if you try to take your troops through impossible terrain. If you wish to control multiple troops you just have to draw a circle around the units. You have to manage you resources well in order to make them effective during battle. Each map lets you build buildings on specific spots which will provide you with various resources. Autumn Dynasty lets you control five types of units which you have to use carefully against the units that they have most probability to overwhelm. The campaign may feel short as the game is extremely fun to play.

Breach & Clear
Breach & Clear is a turn based strategic shooter game where you have to carefully place your units, use tactics and know your enemies. The game doesn’t have a specific story – you just have to shoot the bad guys. You have to command a unit of four elite commandos and use several gates tactfully to kill the bad guys and win the game. The result will depend on when and from where you move your unit. You may be thinking “ I will shoot like a mad man on every direction and win the game” but this is not how it works. You have to carefully place your unit into and out of cover. Your unit will shoot automatically if they have a clear shot. Each move lasts a few seconds and then you have to plan your move again based on your previous move. You can change the difficulty based on how good you are with strategy games. If you like a challenge then play on the highest difficulty level available. You can also customize your unit buy upgrading and buying them weapons, items and attachments to make then more effective in combat. The controls are pretty easy. You only have a handful of controls at your disposal. The graphics is better zoomed out as zooming in will reveal messy lines and textures. But the game is better played with the camera zoomed out so these details won’t even bother you. You’ll be occupied for hours with this game.

Castle Raid 2
Castle Raid 2 is a game made with the combination of tower defense and real time strategy or RTS gameplay. You have a base from where you have to build units from the available resources. However, you don’t have any control over your units; they will just attack the first unit they encounter. This may look like a relief as you don’t have to strategically control your troops but it is not. You still have to control your base and focus on whether you want to build troops to attack the enemies or train peasants to gather resources. You can use your towers to assist your troops in battle buy launching missiles, spells and siege weapons. There are variety of maps which manages to never make you feel bored. Castle Raid 2 also has PvP gameplay mode which is where true challenge is. AI is nowhere as difficult as playing with your buddies.

Clash of Clans
People are crazy about Clash of Clans these days. This is a highly addictive online strategy game where you loot other villages and show off your village. At the beginning, you’ll be give you very own village to command, expand and defend. You will be given a few quests at the beginning for you to know how the game works and offer you an opportunity to earn some gold. After you are strong enough, you will have to attack other villages and collect gold. You also have to collect elixirs that are absolutely necessary in the game as it is used to create troops and clean up villages. No matter you lose or win, you will almost always earn some gold. Later on when you advance, more buildings and troops will be unlocked and you have to defend you villages with siege weapons and troops. The game never gets boring as you have the ability to chat with other players, join a clan or create one. With smooth music and good graphics, you will never want to stop playing – literally. Clash of Clan works best on a tablet or phones with bigger screen. If you easily chat and play simultaneously if you are using a tablet. Nothing is too complicated. The game is not graphics hungry, meaning you can play on your mid-range device without any problem.

Here you play the role of Max McMann, a defense attorney who is entitled with the task of preventing his clients from going behind bars. Sound like a normal game isn’t it? Instead of doing the traditional attorney work like collecting evidence and presenting them in a way to make your client look innocent, Max uses his skill of patronizing witnesses, tampering evidence, etc. to win cases. Max is a legit attorney who is more on the side of money than justice. The game has hilarious cut scenes which will help you love this game even more. You send action point during every trial to perform some attacks such as intimidating witness. The goal is to eliminate every aspect that will prevent you to win the game. There are in-app purchases but you will never need it to successfully play the game. If you lose a case, it is because you did a mistake somewhere. You earn fee and bonus from the trials which can be used to upgrade Max’s apartment. In my opinion, this game worth every penny you spend.

Frozen Synapse is a turned based strategy game in which the player should plan their moves in a combat. You have to move your unit through paths, control their actions and tactfully use the covers. The game has an option to preview your action before actually doing them. The game’s graphics is minimal but pleasing which helps the low end devices to run this game without any problem. The multiplayer mode makes this game more desirable and fun to play as you are testing your skill against an actual human being.

Great Big War Game
This is another turn based strategy game with elements such as fog of war and resources management. This is a war game where all you have to do is tap – tap a solider and tap somewhere else to make him go there. This is a pretty straight forward game with minimal controls and easy gameplay. You earn cash which in used to train more soldiers and build more vehicles. But this is where the easiness ends. Great Big War Game requires a lot of strategy and perfect utilization of soldiers and resources. The soldiers run out of ammunition and the number of moves vary according to the terrain the units are on. You also earn battle points when you advance through the campaign which are later used to upgrade your unit. The graphics are pretty good considering the cartoony characters and hilarious dialogues. The music is soothing at first but it will get monotonous after a while which will force you to turn it off. This game is still a fun strategy game.

This game is exactly what the name suggests. Your objective is to infect the whole planet with your mutated viruses and bacteria and exterminate the world population. You have to mutate your virus to make it more lethal. The gameplay is basic along with the interface. You’ll spend most of the time looking at the world map as most of the work is done from there. You have to keep a close eye on flight and ship routes as you have to strategically use these to infect the world. You need to have a lot of patience to play this game. You’ll need to use the DNA to research new virus, upgrade them to be more lethal. When you infect and eradicate the world population, the game comes to an end.

Plants vs. Zombies 2
If you have played the original Plants vs. Zombies then you already know how the game works. For all those who have no idea; you have to prevent he zombies on the right to reach the left side of the screen by using various seeds at your disposal to grow zombie fighting plants. The original plants like sunflower and pea shooter are still there along with new plants such as coconut canon, power lily, etc. The zombies will occasionally drop food that you have to collect and use it when you really need it as it make the plants to go on over drive and release their devastating special power. You can also unlock new levels by collecting keys and completing challenges. Plants vs. Zombies has in app purchases but you don’t really need it to complete the game. They are just shortcuts to completing the game faster. If you are all about high graphics and textures then PvZ is not for you.
