Galaxy S9 uses a combination of buttons to get into either of the modes. First, lets gin into the recovery mode.
Step 1: Power off your device.
Step 2: After it is completely turned off, long press the Bixby and Volume up buttons and then hold the power button.
Step 3: Let go of the power button after the device turns on. Do not let go of the other two buttons yet.
Step 4: After you see a blue screen, you can let go of the Bixby and Volume up button.
