WhatsApp has been one of the most popular messengers app for the smartphones for a long time, and continues to be so. Yesterday, WhatsApp Inc. made an announcement, which is now making all the WhatsApp lovers glad, and excited. The company has now launched the WhatsApp for web- which means users can now send and receive messages from their computers.
As of now, however, there are several limitations of the services. The Google chrome browser is the only browser supported for WhatsApp web service. In order to view the messages on your computer, the messages must be received in your mobile, making the web service a mirror-one, rather than a dedicated messaging service in itself like facebook or viber. This means, if your phone is switched off or does not have the internet connection, you won’t be able to view the latest messages in your chrome browser too.
In order to use the service, you will have to go to the web.whatsapp.com site from your Chrome browser (you should install it, if you don’t have one in your computer). There, you will be given a QR code, which will have to be scanned by your mobile. Then, you will have to open WhatsApp, click a button that says “WhatsApp Web,” and use their phone’s camera to snap a photo of the code. There is a criteria for the app too, you must have the latest version of WhatsApp in your mobile, the previous versions does not have the service.
So, now onwards, you can enjoy messaging from your computer, with all the WhatsApp contacts you love to chat with. Typing form a computer’s keyboard is always certainly faster than typing on a mobile, and hence the messaging is going to be more faster and efficient too.
The service is only available for Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone for now, and hence, the iOS users will still have to wait some time for this. This can be somewhat disappointing for the Apple fans, but they will be definitely getting the service very soon, and we will update about it as soon as we get any clue.
