How to stop WhatsApp from sharing info with Facebook

Method 1:

This is after you have installed WhatsApp for the first time or just updated it to a new version. If you already Agreed to the terms, follow method 2.

Step 1: Launch WhatsApp.

Step 2: When you are prompted with the Terms of Service, do not tap on agree.

Step 3: Tap on the upward arrow located at the bottom right corner of the screen to read more.

Step 4: Tap the checkbox to disable sharing of information with Facebook.

Step 5: Later if you go looking for Share my account data option in the settings, you will not find it since you have already opted it out.

Method 2:

If you have already tapped on ‘Agree’, you can still opt it out. Here’s how:

Step 1: Launch WhatsApp.

Step 2: Tap on More / Menu buttom. It is the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner.

Step 3: Tap on Settings.

Step 4: Tap on Account.

Step 5: Tap on the checkbox next to Share my account info.

Step 6: You have successfully opted out and your information won’t be shared with Facebook.
