The battery

Following the exploding disaster of Note 7, Samsung stayed on the safe side with Note 8’s 3,300 mAh battery. But not anymore. Note 9 is packed with huge 4000 mAh monster. This should make the device run more on a single change considering how efficient the Snapdragon 845 is. And if the juice finishes, you can refill it with either a wired or wireless fast charging.

Improved S Pen

S Pen is what attracts people to the Note Series. This year, people are here for a sweet delight. Samsung gave the S Pen the upgrade it deserves.

Samsung added the connectivity of S Pen to Low Energy Bluetooth. Along with the new type of connectivity, the new S Pen is loaded with tons of new features. You can now control your S Pen from a distance; perfect for giving a presentation.

You can also use this feature to take pictures from afar by pressing the button of the S Pen. Now that the S Pen has Bluetooth, it has a battery. It needs to be charged too. But don’t get disappointed; when stored inside the Note 9, S Pen charges seamlessly in the background. There shouldn’t be any problem.

The Colors

This year’s color options are better. Samsung doesn’t seem to be following any other major brands’ color schemes. These seem all original.

In the US, there is an option to choose from either Ocean Blue or Lavender Purple. Outside the US, buyers have additional options as Samsung is also releasing Midnight Black and Metallic Copper. The S Pen’s color matches with the phone except for the one that comes with Ocean Blue; they went for a bright yellow for some reason.

Worth Upgrading?

Last year’s Note 8 is still one powerful phone. Note 9 offers improvements as it should with a more powerful processor, more RAM, better camera and such. It does have a massively improved S-Pen and a huge battery. So if those factors affect you, you could throw $900 and upgrade your last year’s ancient device. It’s all up to you.

Where to buy?

If you want to buy this fantastic beast, the price in the US start at $999.99 for the 128 GB model and $1249.99 for the 512 GB model. Note 9 will be available at Samsung’s website, Amazon, and all of the major carriers and more.

The Note 9 will be available for purchase from August 9.
