On June 13 Apple unveil tons of new software including all new fully redesigned iOS 10 which is said to be the biggest iOS release ever. This iOS 10 comes with lots of new features that makes this OS even better than before. There are some of the small update and some of the big update made which is actually good. Users are giving good response and they are even liking this new iOS. Apple is releasing a public beta version next month. You can find some of the new feature such as facial recognition, better Siri, an all–new iMessage, and so on.
Lock Screen:
In iOS 10 Apple has added more features to your lock screen- you can swipe right to launch the camera, swipe left to see the widgets and even look at the look screen without touching the phone. As always a top-down swipe opens your notification center which has been completely redesign, it looks more like a notification on your Apple watch.
3D touch:
Now, if you see the home screen you will be surprised and happy at the same time. 3D touch shortcut will bring more information by allowing apps to show live details in 3D touch Pop-Up which will be more convenient and time-saving for you.You will find your Foreground of the screen will be focused and the background will be blurred while using 3D touch.
iMessage:
This time the drastic change in IOS 10 has been found in iMessage. There is a major upgrade in iMessage Apps. Apple really made its users happy by adding whole lots of new features. It has now rich previews. With iMessage App, third-party developer can also add emojis, animation and other media in the combos. Simply open the App drawer to interact with other apps within messenger. User can now send rich links with music and video playing directly in the conversation.
Emojis are three times bigger and Messages will suggest emojis based on what you type. You can also tap on words to replace them with emojis. You can now directly write in the message, add bubble effect– Handwriting bubbles, popping bubbles, tiny bubbles etc. also you can send a full screen effects like a firework. Another interesting feature is Invisible ink where you can send a message or photo that remains hidden and then simply swipe to reveal it. This new functionality ranges from silly stickers app like mickey mouse gifts to more sophisticated integration like paying friends with Square pay or collaboratively ordering food with DoorDash.
Photo App:
There has also been positive change in Photos app in IOS 10. This iOS uses deep learning locally on the device to do face recognition. Apple is making it easier to find and group images. The new photos app groups your photos library into editable movie memories using local on device facial recognition and AI detection of what’s in your images. It can combine photos and videos into themed mini-movies complete with transitions and a soundtrack. iOS now also detects objects in your photos, like water, a mountain, tree etc. You can now search for “tree” and find all your trees photos.
Maps:
Maps have been redesigned adding Proactive suggestion- a new turn by turn look. It is now open to third-party developers. This time Map is more easy to access control and details on location. It also gives you convenient way to filter down the places you might want to go. The new design of map is applying for navigation as well, we get more information, easy to follow and control and it even includes traffic on route. You can zoom in and out to see the traffic on the route as well.There are lots of new feature included like booking the uber ride, reservation the table in restaurant etc.
Siri:
Siri has also seen some major updates in IOS 10. You can now use siri to navigate, asking siri to open and interact with apps, send the message and siri even suggest answer like your current location and contact information. There are many other use of Siri like paying back your friends in Venmo or Number26, starting a workout in Runtastic and Runkeeper , calling a ride in Uber or Lyft, calling using Viber or Skype.
Music:
Last but not the least, Apple showed brand new version of Apple music which the company said that it was built from the ground-up with simplicity in mind. In in-effort to make things less confusing the first screen that we find just after opening the music app is library which is broken into two sections–music store locally and streaming tracks. Now playing screen is much less clutter. It includes lyrics (you just need to scroll down to see the lyrics), a new personalized Discovery Mix and Radio Tap that streams Beats 1.

Apple has unbundled it needed app like mail, map, music and more and put them in the app store. This means the app will be updated more often instead of only when there is major IOS release, allowing for quicker updates and the ability to add new features, fix bugs, address security issue and make other changes as needed. Though apple mentioned some major features, there are lots of other features which we will see when we have hand on iOS 10. For now iOS 10 is now available for developers. Next month beta version will be available for the public and it is expected to release in this fall.
