The Chinese telecommunication giant for the smartphone manufacture, Huawei has announced its new smartphone in Ascend Mate series: Huawei Ascend Mate 7 in its IFA Berlin event yesterday. Nobody knows why it is named as mate 7, as it is the third in its series. It has slightly smaller display than its predecessor (most of the flagships have their size increased), and comes with better specs than the previous one.

To talk about the specs of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 phablet, it features a 6-inch Full HD (1,080 x 1,920 pixels) capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 368 ppi. The handset sports a sleek profile with dimensions 157 x 81 x 7.9 mm and weighs 185 grams, which is quite heavy but not much for the display size. The phone will have 16 or 32 GB of internal memory, with an option of expandable storage upto 32 GB via microSD card. It has 2 GB RAM (and 3 GB for the 32 GB internal memory model),  and for the processing power, there will be a HiSilicon Kirin 925 chipset (this one is of Huawei itself) complied with a Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU (which makes it an octa-core), and an Mali-T628 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 13 MP primary camera with geo-tagging, LED Flash, touch autofocus, which can capture videos upto 1080p @ 30 fps, and a 5 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-Ion 4,100 mAh battery mAh battery (this is one of the best parts of having this smartohone), which is claimed to give a standby time of 648 hours in 3G. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and NFC.  It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with the EMUI 3.0 UI over it, and we can expect it to get the Android L in future. The phone will be available  in Obsidian black, Moonlight silver and Amber gold options.

The phone looks awesome, and the chipset made by Huawei itself also works just fine. As it is expected to be priced much competitively, it is sure to go a hit, but we don’t know anything about its international availability yet. We’ll update about any information available in the near future.
