The Chinese handset manufacturer Xiaomi has been making headlines since the past few years for launching high spec smartphones at surprisingly low prices. The prices of Xiaomi handsets are comparatively cheaper in China where its current flagship phone, Xiaomi Mi-2, was launched at a meager price of $320. Thus, we can expect similar price for its next flagship phone.
The latest rumors have emerged of a possible Xiaomi Mi-3 release in the near future. Images of the supposed Xiaomi Mi-3 have already surfaced on the web and I tell you this it looks really awesome. The design looks very sleek with the screen covering almost entire front surface of the device.
The Mi-3 is also expected to sport the much talked about Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU and the featuring os will be MIUI based Android 5.0. We still have to see whether Xiaomi Mi-3 sticks to its low price policy for such a high specification. If it does, maybe this time the Chinese manufacturer is going to get a lot busy fulfilling orders from all around the globe.
The following are the list of features you can expect from Xiaomi Mi-3:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3GHz (OMG indeed)
- 5 inch 1080p screen with 1080X1920 res
- 13 megapixels camera
- RAM: 2 GB
- Internal Storage: 32 GB
- A high capacity 3,600 mAH battery
- Operating system: MIUI based Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie
UPDATE: Latest reports from various tech blogs suggest that Mi3 might be released on August, 2013. AnTuTu benchmarks of MI3 has appeared on a Chinese blog, Cnbeta. The benchmark shows a Mi3 with 2.1 GHz processor running on Android 4.1.2 though we expected an MIUI based Android Key Lime Pie operating system. The benchmark shows a huge score of over 84,000 for MI3, compare that to the meager 28,000 score of the Galaxy S4 and 24,200 score of HTC One. Even the latest leaked AnTuTu score of Galaxy Note 3 is nothing compared to Xiaomi Mi3’s monstrous score. If these scores are true, Xiaomi Mi3 will be the fastest and the most powerful smartphone in the market with an even unbelievable price. However, this benchmark is probably a hoax, even Lenovo K900 with its 2.0 GHz Intel Clover Trail+ processor scored just above 35000 points.
Another leaked AnTuTu benchmark has appeared for Mi3. This time the score is quite believable at 29,607. However, the processor is clocked at 1.8GHz which is different from the first leaked benchmarks which showed a 2.1 GHz MI3 running on android 4.2.1. Many have speculated that the processor at work in the latest benchmark could be Tegra 4 based instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon.
