What is bootloader & what actually it is?
So, a bootloader is basically the code that is executed before booting up the Operating System. This basic concept is true for any OS on any device and platform. Since this guide is for an Android device, we’ll specifically talk about it. Each Android device has a bootloader that tells the OS kernel to boot. But since Android is an open-source operating system, and many manufacturers have their own variant of it, the bootloader is different too. That means each manufacturer have their own version of bootloader that is unique to the model and the hardware inside it.
What are the pros and cons of unlocking Bootloader
Why unlock the bootloader if the Android is running fine as it is. The answer is quite simple. You need to unlock the bootloader if you want to root the device. Rooting unlocks the possibility if flashing custom ROMs and tons of other customizations options. But there is one major downside of unlocking it – the warranty will be completely void. And all your data will be wiped.
How to unlock Samsung Galaxy A51 bootloader
Before we begin, make sure to make a backup of all your important files as all the files stored in your phone will be wiped. And follow the steps carefully so that you do now accidentally damage your device.
So now that we know the basics of bootloader, lets dive in and unlock the bootloader of your Samsung Galaxy A51.
Step 1: Go to Settings
Step 2: Scroll down and find About Phone. Tap on it.
Step 3: Find Build Number and tap on it 6 times. You will see a notification saying “You’re now a developer”.
Step 4: Go back to Setting and find Developer Options. Tap on it.
Step 5: Select Enable OEM Unlocking.
Step 6: Connect your Galaxy A51 to your PC.
Step 7: Turn off your Galaxy A51 by holding the Power button and Volume Down button together.
Step 8: Now after it is turned off, press and hold Volume Up and Volume Down button together.
Step 9: The phone will boot into Download Mode.
Step 10: Now, press and hold the Volume Up button. This will unlock the bootloader and also wipe the data and reboot your phone.
And you’re done. the bootloader is now unlocked and you can start flashing custom ROMs and customizing your device.
