Snapchat has included a feature call “Travel Mode” that they claim will save up your mobile data. Travel Mode is basically a “tap to load” feature; which means that you have to manually update the stories to view them. By default, Snapchat automatically loads all the stories and chat in the background. Travel Mode stops these background updates and thus makes it easy on your data plan. This feature will load texts that you receive automatically as they consume less data; but is someone sends you a snap, it will not be automatically viewed. You will have to tap on the image to download and view it. The same goes for stories on your feed. You will need to tap them as well to view them; or else they will not load. However, when you load a snap, it will consume the same amount of data when the Travel Mode was turned off. The snaps will not consume lesser data when on Travel Mode. To enable Travel Mode, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open Snapchat.

Step 2: Tap on the Bitmoji or the ghost icon located on the top right. This will take you inside Snapchat’s Settings.

Step 3: Scroll down till you find Manage.

Step 4: There, you will find Travel Mode. Enable it and you’re good to go.
