Sometimes, even if we’re busy and do not want to be disturbed with any kind of notification on our smartphones, we worry about missing something important. If that is your case too, this guide is here to help. Here’s how to allow only certain contacts to reach you on Android.
Allow only certain contacts reach you on Android
So how do you do that? The answer is Do Not Disturb mode. Using this feature on Android, you can select the contacts manually to allow them to call you or reach you in any other way. The notifications or calls will not be blocked and will be there sitting silently in the background, but the contacts you choose to pass through it can reach you. Here’s how.
Step 1: Go to Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Sound and then tap on Do not disturb.
Step 3: Tap on Turn on now to enable it. If you do not want to enable it manually every time, you can schedule it to activate at certain times of day using the Schedules option.
Step 4: Now tap on Calls and then tap on Allow calls. Step 5: Select From starred contacts only to let Android know that these contacts can pass through the Do Not Disturb gate.
Step 6: You can tap on Starred contacts and then tap on Add starred contacts to add the contacts you want to pass through.
Step 7: The process is similar for other SMS, MMS or messaging apps. Just tap on the apps and choose From starred contacts only.
And that is it. You can play around with the feature and tweak it as per your preference. You can add schedules to allow certain contacts to get to you at lunchtime and allow some to contact you during office hours.
