To get started, install WiFi Password Viewer from the Google Play Store. It is a free app and you need to have root access for it to work. Once it’s installed, open it and grant superuser permission when prompted. This is required so that the app can read the file on your system partition that contains all the saved WiFi passwords. Tap OK and the app will display all the passwords for all the networks your device has been connected to. Sharing a password is easy. All you need to do is tap on an entry and you will get options to either save it on your clipboard or share it using Bluetooth or other apps capable of sharing. You can also use the QR code to share the password. Any QR code scanning app can be used to view the password.

If you’re running Android 10, then you do not need to get over extra hassle just to see the Wi-Fi passwords. Android 10 has an inbuilt feature that can show you and also share the passwords of the Wi-Fi networks you’re connected to. The steps are simple. Here’s how;

Step 1: Open Settings.

Step 2: Go to Network & Internet.

Step 3: Select WiFi.

Step 4: Tap the name of the connected Wi-Fi network that you want to see the password of. You will get into the Network Details screen.

Step 5: Tap on the Share button. If asked, authenticate with your fingerprint or PIN.

Step 6: You will get into the screen with a QR code. Just below the QR code is the password of the Wi-Fi network.

This method may not work with all the devices but its worth a try if you’re not on Android 10 or any other variants of Android that support Wi-Fi password sharing. This method doesn’t require root access and you can use the file explorer of your choice (Solid Explorer or ES Explorer recommended).

Step 1: Open the ES Explorer.

Step 2: Slide the left side menu.

Step 3: Tap on Local.

Step 4: Select Device. This will open a directory.

Step 5: Go to System > etc > WiFi.

Step 6: Find a file named wpa_supplicant.conf.

Step 7: Open it using any text editor or HTML viewer. ES Explorer has an inbuilt text editor so you do not need to download one.

Step 8: Inside the .conf file, you will see the name and password of all the Wi-Fi networks you’re connected to.

The name and password will be shown in the format;

Step 1: Open ES Explorer.

Step 2: Enable Root Explorer from the side panel.

Step 3: Go to the root folder.

Step 4: Navigate to data > misc > WiFi and find the file named wpa_supplicant.conf.

Step 5: Inside the file, you can find the name and password of the WiFi networks you’ve connected to in the following format;
