Since few weeks back, Samsung is making a lot of buzz in the tech blogs with rumors of a flagship camera phone supposed to be the last addition to the Galaxy S4 series. It was also confirmed that this phone will be called Galaxy S4 Zoom and would reportedly come with a 16 Megapixels camera with 10X optical zoom.
Tech site Sammobile has come up with the latest leaked pictures of the supposed Galaxy S4 Zoom. The Zoom looks almost like the Galaxy S4 Mini albeit with a huge a$$ camera at the back. Due to the 10X optical camera, the Zoom looks twice as thick as the current flagship smartphones. Most smartphone users are spoiled by the sleek designs of smartphones like HTC One, Xperia Z and Galaxy S4 and they will definitely not carry the Zoom in their pockets. Even mid-range devices are getting nice-thin designs. It would really help Zoom if its camera lens was detachable. Also, we expect this device to be sturdy and waterproof.
With the Zoom, maybe Samsung is targeting people who are looking for a camera that can make calls. Make any sense? If you are planning a trip or vacation, S4 Zoom can come handy since it will save you the trouble of carrying a camera. However, most of us already own digital cameras which usually perform a lot better than smartphone cameras. We have yet to see whether Zoom’s camera has performance is on par with a standalone 16MP digital camera.
The Zoom looks too thick for your pocket but the question is how big a hole will it make there. The hardware specs would put it somewhere in the mid-range category but it has premium camera features. So we are not sure how it will be priced. However here are the Galaxy S4 Zoom specs:

Update: U.K. retailer Clove has began taking pre-orders of the S4 Zoom which is set to ship on July 8th, 2013.
