    • This does nothing to restrict kids downloads…only for kids purchases. How do restrict ALL downloads. They can still download free apps and already owned apps. Already owned includes all the apps I have on my device, and all the u wanted apps my kid downloaded to his last device. Thus is what I want to know. I just tried it and it did not ask me for a password, and I have it set to always require a password. Also, the ago restriction stuff doesn’t do it for me either. Any ideas….

    • Yes, there is two things you can do:

      1. Go in to the Application Manager under the Settings wheel for your phone/tablet and Disable Google Play until you want to use it yourself and then you can re-enable it.

      2. Better option: download an “app lock” app that allows control or locking of certain apps on your device and allows access only by a pin you set up, then you can lock down Google Play, and other apps you may not want your little one to open. I have researched one since I have the same problem as you. Read the reviews first many look pretty dicey. There are many options available.
