HTC is all set to release its social network device the” HTC First” featuring Facebook Home. The software and hardware spec of this device is already out in the HTC website and consumers can get their hands on HTC First on April 12 via AT&T for $99. With so many awesome android options in the market, we will have to wait and see how consumers will take this idea of a Facebook Phone. However, according to official reports, Facebook Home will also be available for other android devices. HTC First is only the First (mid range)device to feature Facebook Home. For now, lets take a look at what this “baby” is packing in the software and hardware front.
On the software side, this device will have “Facebook Home” which hopes to make social networking more user friendly by offering a range of features such as Cover feed– which enables users to view Facebook updates right on the home screen and users can like the posts, images and post their own updates and make comments right from the Cover feed. This feature hopes to save users lots of time spent on logging in, scrolling on their android device. Facebook home will feature large and bold notifications for apps, messages, email and missed call alerts Another feature is Chat heads which allows you to multitask while chatting. Thus, you can even open other apps or surf the internet while chatting. Your friend’s Chat heads will appear while you are busy with some apps and you can even move the chat heads around and respond to it or swipe it away. Facebook home will also have One touch app launch feature. With this feature you can assign and access your favorite apps from one place. Update your status, check in, upload photos and do more from single location via single tap on the screen.
