HTC has recently unveiled a new Android smartphone with a unique feature- the HTC Desire Eye which has a front shooter of same Megapixels as that of the rear. This is probably the world’s first smartphone to have so, and comes with almost the same specs as the HTC One M8. Well, we can call it an upgraded version of the HTC One E8- the only difference is that the Desire Eye has a blast front camera.

HTC Desire Eye

To talk about the specs of the HTC Desire Eye, it features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) Super LCD3 capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 424 ppi. The handset sports a sleek profile with dimensions 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 mmm and weighs 154 grams, which is quite heavy but not much for the unibody design and the display size. The phone will have 16 GB of internal memory, with an option of expandable storage upto 128 GB via microSD card. It has 2 GB RAM,  and for the processing power, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset complied with a Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU, and an Adreno 330 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 13 MP primary camera with geo-tagging, dual tone dual LED Flash and touch autofocus and a 13 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. Both the cameras will be able to capture the videos upto 1080p @ 30 fps. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-Ion 2400 mAh battery mAh battery, which is claimed to give a talktime of 20 hours in 3G. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and NFC. It will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, which is not the latest version, but is not old too; with the HTC Sense UI v6 over it, and it is sure to get the major future upgrades, as it is the well known fact that HTC is going good for the case of updates in the recent days. The phone will be available  in Blue, Red and White color options in the market.

As already said, the 13 Megapixels front shooter is the most catchy part of this smartphone, and this phone is sure to be loved by those who love selfies. In other words, duckfaces will now be captured with higher Megapixels camera. This phone also has IPX7 certification as well- which makes it dust proof and water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. This phone will have the Eye Experience suite feature pre-installed. Another awesome feature of this phone is the Split Capture, which divides the photo 50/50 between front and back cameras, while Crop-Me-In creates a single photo with you photoshopped into the back camera image.

The HTC Desire Eye is set to be offered by AT&T exclusively at launch, but it will be available in the International markets very soon after its official release, which will probably be the midst of November. Nothing is said about the price yet, but we can assume it to be slightly higher than the HTC One M8. We will update you with any further information available, stay connected.
