Xiaomi has released a new smartphone in its Redmi series- the Redmi Note 4G, with some mid-range specs and a big display. It is, however, only the upgraded version of its previous Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphone, and comes with some upgraded features from its predecessor.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note will come with a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive display of 720 X 1280 pixels, giving the pixel density of 267 ppi. Physically, the phone will measure 154 x 78.7 x 9.5 mm. The phone will have 8 GB of internal memory, with an expandable microSD card slot supporting upto 64 GB. There will be a 2 GB RAM, and for the processing power, it will have a Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex A7 CPU, and an Adreno 305 GPU. For the photography and videography, there will be a 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED Flash which can record 1080p videos @ 30 fps, and for selfies and video calls, there is a pretty good 5 MP camera on its back. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support (as its name suggests), WiFi and USB OTG. The juice will be provided by a non-removable Li-Po 3200 mAh battery, which will give a talktime of 14 hours on 3G. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, with MIUI 5.0 over it, which is pretty good, since the MIUI runs smooth. The phone will be available on Black and White color options.
The phone is prices $162 (its predecessor was also priced the same during its launch time), which is pretty good for the specs which are given, but its the availability of the Xiaomi which sucks. Let’s hope Xiaomi will do something to improve this, and launch its new phablet worldwide very soon and get global appreciation. Along with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, its sibling is also released with it, the non-LTE version which will have a MediaTek MT6592 1.7 GHz octa core processor.
