If you have a huge collection of DVDs just sitting there in your movie library, you can digitize them easily with the help of Vudu and Movies Anywhere. You do not need to spend a lot of time digitizing your DVDs and BRs; instead, you can pay Movies Anywhere to do the work for you. However, not all discs can be digitalized. This method will not work if the disc does not have UPC or Universal Product Code. Also, this will work only on the movies that Vudu has offered in their marketplace. Here’s how to turn movie discs into digital copies.
How to turn movie discs into digital copies
Before you start, you need to keep in mind that not all distribution companies have signed up with Disney for Movies Everywhere. So not all movies can be converted into digital copies. There are only 5 major companies that support Movies Everywhere: Disney, 2oth Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Universal and Warner Bros.
Sign up to Vudu and then you can follow the steps below to turn your movie discs into digital copies. They’ll charge $2 for SD, $5 for HDX.
Using Android
Step 1: Open the Vudu app. Download it here
Step 2: Slide the Menu bar.
Step 3: Tap on Disc to Digital.
Step 4: Tap on Scan Barcode. Scan the Barcode from the disc case.
Step 5: You can now select the quality if the movie you scanned is available.
Step 6: Tap on Submit List to digitize the movies.
Step 7: Once that’s done, you’ll receive an email with final steps to finish the process.
Using PC
Use this method if you have a DVD/BR drive on your computer. If you don’t, stick to the previous method.
Step 1: Open a browser and go to Vudu’s site.
Step 2: Click on Services.
Step 3: Click on Discs to Digital.
