Sony has recently announced another smartphone under the E lineup- the Sony Xperia E4. With some mid-range specs, this phone comes with a bigger display if compared with the previous devices under the same series.

Xperia E4

The Sony Xperia E4 does not stand so high in case of the specs though, since it is targeted for budget users. It features a 5-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) TFT capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 220 ppi. The handset is sleek, having dimensions of 137 x 74.6 x 10.5 mm and it weighs just 144 g. The phone will have 8 GB of internal memory with 1 GB of AM, with the expandable storage option via microSD card upto 32 GB. For the processing power, there will be Mediatek MT6582 chipset compiled with quad Core 1.3 GHz Cortex A-7 CPU, and Mali 400-MP2 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 5 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED Flash which can capture videos upto 1080p @ 30 fps, and a 2 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-ion 2300 mAh battery, which will give the talktime of upto 12 hours on 3G. For the connectivity options, there will be 3G support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi. The phone will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box with Xperia UI over it, and we can’t say anything about the future updates. The phone will be available in only two color options- Black and White.

There will be two versions- Xperia E4 and E4 dual, and the only difference between them will be the sim-support, i.e. as stated, the dual will support two micro SIM cards. The device comes just over two weeks before it is expected to make further product announcements Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We can, however, expect the phone to make the appearance in the same event, since it is only announced, and is still yet to be launched. Sony Xperia E4 is up for pre-orders in the UK and is expected to be released in the country in late March with price tag £99.99 (approximately $154).
