Few weeks back we reported on the alleged leaked specs of Galaxy S5 in GFXbench. Now another rumor has surfaced which indicates that the Samsung Galaxy s5 will sport a Quad HD display with a resolution of 2,560 X 1,440. These 2k displays are popular in high resolution computer screen such as the iMac or Samsung’s own LED monitors. While Samsung has yet to confirm this information, Chinese premium smartphone manufacturer Oppo has already announced that its next flagship Oppo Find 7 would have the 2K display.
Along with the QHD display, Korean tech website ZDNet reports that the S5 will also have advanced security features like iris scanner and fingerprint reader. Looks like Samsung is looking to bring some serious firepower in the smartphone arena. With such advanced features, Samsung should come up with some innovative ideas for its apps because people love doing cool stuffs with their phones.
Previously leaked specs hints at the following possible specifications for the Galaxy S5
- OS: Android Kitkat 4.4
- An eight core 64 bit processor or the latest Snapdragon processor (According to BGR)
- RAM: 3GB
- Display: 5.25 to 5.5 inch QHD LCD display with 2,560 X 1,440 res
- Camera: 16 Megapixel rear
- Battery: 4000 mAH
- Variants: Metal /Plastic body
The Galaxy S5 is expected to be officially released at the Mobile World Congress 2014 (24 to 27 February ). However, Samsung might surprise us with an earlier release in January.
