Fix Samsung Galaxy S10 System UI has stopped error
If you haven’t modded your phone with custom ROMs and such, this error can be easily fixed. If you have installed a custom ROM, then this guide may be useless for you. Refer to the thread you got the ROM from if you are on a modded system. If the firmware is stock, follow the solutions below.
Reboot:
A reboot could fix the bug that is causing the UI to stop responding. When the device is left running for a prolonged period of time without rebooting, bugs may develop and cause annoying issues. Perform a simple restart and see if the error is gone. Also, it is recommended that you reboot your phone at least once a week to stay clear of such bugs and errors. You could perform a traditional reboot from the power menu, or you could do a forced reboot (press and hold Volume Down and Power buttons for 10 seconds).
Check for system update:
If a bug in the OS is causing the error, the manufacturer might have rolled out an update to fix the issue. Check if there is a new update waiting to be installed. To check, go to Settings > Software update and install if there is any.
Force Stop System UI / Clear Cache / Delete data:
Just like any other apps on your phone, System UI is also an app that can encounter errors. An update might fix an issue or it might cause one. If the System UI started to malfunction after a system update, try force stopping it and clearing its cache.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Apps.
- Tap on the 3-dot menu icon. Select Show system apps.
- Find System UI and force stop it. Also, clear its cache and delete data.
- Reboot devise.
Clear System Cache: The problem might be caused by a corrupted system cache after a system update. You can try to solve the system UI error by clearing up the system cache partition from the Recovery mode.
- Turn the phone off.
- Press and hold Volume Up, Bixby and Power buttons till you see a green Android logo.
- After some seconds, you will get into Recovery.
- Using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to select, select ‘wipe cache partition’.
- Select ‘Reboot system now’ after the wipe is complete
If none of the aforementioned solutions works, try the following
- Update all apps.
- Check for and remove malicious apps.
- Reset app preferences (Settings > Apps > 3-dot menu > Reset app preferences > Restart)
- Factory reset.
