Unstable Internet Connection: If you are having a problem downloading or updating apps on your Samsung Galaxy S10, most of the time the culprit is your internet connection. An unstable or slow connection will result in such issues. Check if the network your phone is connected to is working. If the internet is not to be blamed here, move on to the next step.

Restart Device: Always restart your device if you come across any errors or bugs. A restart may sound simple, but most of the time minor issues can be solved by it. I recommend you to force restart your device rather than using the power menu. Force restart simulates the effect of removing the battery and putting it back again.

Clear Download Manager Data: Download Manager, as the name suggests, it the app that handles the download of apps from Google Play Store and some other apps. This issue may have occurred due to a bug in said Download Manager. You should clear its data and try again.

To do so;

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Apps.
  3. Tap on the 3-dot menu and then select ‘Show system apps’.
  4. Find and tap on Download Manager
  5. Force Stop the app if it is running.
  6. Clear its data and cache.

You can do the same to the Google Play Store app too.

Check Date and Time: Sometimes, if the system date and time are incorrect, the Google Play Store will refuse to download or update apps. Check if the date and time are correct.

To do so;

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on General Management.
  3. Select Date and Time.
  4. Enable ‘Automatic date and time’.

Google Services Framework: Google Services Framework app is used to update Google apps and all the apps downloaded from Google Play Store. Although it is not recommended to clear data of this app, sometimes doing that will fix Google Play Store issues. To do so;

  1. Go to Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap on the 3-dot menu and select ‘Show system apps’.
  3. Find Google Services Framework > tap on Storage and then tap on Clear Data.
  4. Restart the device.

Here are other steps you could try if none of the above worked;

  1. Check available storage.
  2. Remove and re-add Google Account.
  3. Reset system cache partition from Recovery (Power off. Press and hold the Volume Up button, Bixby button and then Power button till you see a green Android logo)
  4. As a last resort – Factory reset your device from Recovery Mode.
