Just after the official release of the camera phone OPPO N3, the recently grown Chinese smartphone giant OPPO has released another smartphone, which is now officially the world’s thinnest smartphone- the OPPO R5. With the thinness of just 4.85 mm, it is a real slim smartphone, thinner than all the smartphones out there. Other specs of this device, however, are quite mid-range though.

The processor of the OPPO R5 is a 64-bit one, which makes it future proof obviously. The battery and the limited storage with no any expandable options of this device will suck though, which makes the users not to buy it if they want large storage. You’ll need to use the bundled micro-USB adapter or Bluetooth (there’s an optional O-Music Bluetooth clip for your headphones and for triggering the camera). There is no any 3.5 mm headphone connector in this phone as well, but this is what helped to make the phone such a significantly thin smartphone. This phone also has significant bezels- the contribution of which goes to the thinness, and it is absolutely not fine. It supports VOOC charging technology, that is said to charge the battery from 0 to 75 percent in around 30 minutes. The build quality of this phone also is a plus point, since it is firmly build and is strong.

The build quality of this phone also is a plus point, since it is firmly build and is strong. The OPPO R5 also has some quite unique and useful features as well. This includes the ability of old gesture panel to be toggled by dragging up from the Home button, thus letting you draw customized gestures to launch apps or open contacts. By default, you can draw a “V” to turn on the flashlight, draw a circle to launch the camera, or draw a “W” to launch WeChat. This phone is said to be available in the markets from this December, and will come with a price tag of $499 off-contract.
