Nvidia’s TegraZone app, which previously offered games recommendation, news and installation for Tegra-powered Android devices, is now available in Google Play for all devices running Android 2.2 or up. Through TegraZone, Android gaming enthusiasts can discover the best looking android games with high graphics and processing requirements, unfortunately most of them will run only on Tegra devices. Looks like Nvidia is using this app as an advertising platform to tempt Android users into buying Tegra devices. Still, you can use it as a news app to get the latest and greatest updates in android gaming.
Though all the recommended games are optimized to run on Tegra 2, Tegra 3 and Tegra 4 processors, if you have a powerful device with a quad-core processor and 1 GB or more of RAM you may find non-Tegra versions of the games which will not have the cool Tegra GPU effects such as water, glow or blur effects. Though TegraZone, you can find both free and premium games browsing through categories like action, adventure, arcade, family, productivity role playing, simulation, sports and more.
TegraZone supports all Tegra-powered devices such as the NVIDIA SHIELD, tablets including the Nexus 7, Asus Transformer Prime TF201, Transformer Infinity TF700, Transformer Pad TF300, Acer A500, A510, A100, Toshiba AT300; and phones including the HTC One X, Motorola Droid X2, Electrify, Photon 4G, Atrix, and Samsung Captivate Glide.
