LG has recently announced the two new compact-like versions of the LG G3- the LG G3 Beat, and the LG G3 S, having a lot lower end specs than the original flagship. The LG G3 S is nothing but the dual sim version of the LG G3 Beat actually (and hence, also known as the LG G3 Beat Duos commonly).
The LG G3 Beat and S both will have a 5 inches IPS LCD display having the resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels, giving the pixel count of 294 ppi. Having a internal memory of 8 GB with a expandable storage option of upto 6 GB, both the smartphones have 1 GB RAM. For the processing power, they will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor along with an Adreno 305 GPU. For the photo and videography, they will have a 8 MP Rear camera with Autofous, Flash, Geo tagging and many other features, which can capture videos of upto 1080p @ 30 fps. For the selfies and video calls, there is a 1.3 MP front camera too. The phone will operate on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. For the connectivity options, the LG G3 Beat will have the LTE support, along with microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi, while the LG G3 S will have all the features, except the LTE Support (there will be 3G only instead). Both the smartphones will have a 2540 mAh battery for providing the juice for all the aspects, the talktime or standby time of the Battery is not yet specified. Physically, both the phones measure 137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3 mm, giving the weight of 134g. Metallic Black and Silk white will be the color options for both, while the LG G3 Beat will also be available in the Shine Gold color.
Both the smartphones are probably going to be released next month. While the given specifications are nice for the mid-range Android device seekers, the price LG is going to keep for these smartphones will hugely affect the sales. Just some days before, Sony also had announced two mid-range devices with almost the same specifications, except the display size- the Sony Xperia C3 and C3 Dual. There are also other established competitors for the same range of specs, and one of them is the Motorola Moto G. While the LG G3 has mostly the positive reviews and is widely appreciated, let’s see what impact these two mid-range devices put in the Android smartphone market.
