Truecaller is an extremely useful app. It gives out the contact information of the people and helps you identify the unknown number if the number is in its database. The app uploads all the contacts of the people that have signed up to its servers so privacy is a big concern when using this app. So, after some time, you might want to stop using it and try to remove your contact form its database. Do not worry, this is very doable. Here’s how you delete your phone number from Truecaller.
Delete your phone number from Truecaller
There are 2 major steps to delete your number from TrueCaller – Deactivate your account and remove your number. If you have never signed up for an account on Truecaller, then you can skip the first step and go straight to removing your number. For those who have a truecaller account, start from step 1.
Step 1: Deactivate Truecaller Account
This is a simple step. Start by opening the truecaller app. once inside, tap on the hamburger menu icon on the top left corner. There, you will find Settings. Tap on it to get in. On Privacy Center, you’ll find Deactivate on the very bottom of the screen. Tap on Deactivate and then on Yes when the popup appears.
You have successfully deactivated your truecaller account. This will, however, will not delist your number from their servers. For that, you need to perform step 2.
Step 2: Remove Number from Truecaller
You can start by going to Truecaller’s Unlisting page on your web browser. Once the page loads, you will see a box under the Phone number. Type in your phone number and make sure you include your country code.
Confirm that you are not a robot by tapping on the checkbox. Tap on Unlist Phone number and you’re done. You may have to wait for up to 24 hours. Your number has been successfully removed from the Trucaller’s database.
You can confirm that by searching for your number from someone else’s phone with an active Truecaller account. Do not use your own phone to check as this will undo all the steps you’ve done to remove the number in the first place. If your number was successfully removed, you will not see your name and other information. Instead, you will only see the phone number itself.
