If you are an Instagram beta tester, you already know about this feature. Most users have already had experience with this feature on Snapchat. Just like Stories, Instagram now has what is identical to Snapchat’s Snapcodes. Instagram is calling it Nametags. It is there to help you quickly add other users. Here’s how you can create Nametag on Instagram.
Create Nametag on Instagram
Nametags are basically unique code that identifies a particular user and which can be used to quickly find and add a user. These codes can be scanned in the app. The level of customization Instagram is offering to these Nametags are arguably far better than what they offer in Snapchat. They are more than just black and white QR codes.
You can access your Nametag from your Profile tab. You can find the tab in the bottom right corner. Once there, tap on the Hamburger menu located at the top right corner. Locate NameTag and then tap on it. You can also go to the Explorer tab (it is one with a magnifying glass as an icon) and then tap on the Nametag icon (4 rounded corners with a rounded square at the middle) located the top right corner of the screen.
You have a choice of 3 different themes to choose from. You can also choose between 5 colors for the background by tapping on the free background space. You also have the option to choose Emoji Nametag. You can choose what emoji you want to have on your background. And with the Selfie Nametag, you can take a selfie and put them on your background. It’s as simple as that.
You can scan a nametag why tapping on San a name tag located at the bottom of the screen. This will open up your camera. Just point that cames on a name tag and the app will find the user using that tag.
