You all know and have used Bluetooth on your Android. You connect wireless headphones, speakers among other things with Bluetooth on a daily basis. You can add Xbox One wireless controller to the list. That’s right, you can connect the Xbox One wireless controller to your Android device and use it to play games and use apps. Here’s how to connect Xbox One Wireless Controller to Android.
Connect Xbox One Wireless Controller to Android
The first thing you need to know is whether or not the controller you have has Bluetooth or not. There’s an easy way to determine this. If your controller has plastic on top around the Xbox button, then it doesn’t have Bluetooth. If the color around the Xbox button matches the rest of the controller, then it has Bluetooth. Refer to the image below.
Now let’s get on with the tutorial. Follow the steps below;
Step 1: Open Settings on Android. It is the one with a gear icon.
Step 2: Select Connections.
Step 3: Turn on Bluetooth by tapping on the slider next to it.
Step 4: Now, press and hold the Xbox button on the Xbox One Wireless controller. This will turn the controller on.
Step 5: Find the sync button on the controller. It is a round button at the top located between L1 and R1 buttons. It has 3 wavy lines beside it.
Step 6: Press and hold the button until the controller’s light flashes.
Step 5: Now that Bluetooth is enabled in both the controller and Android, it’s time to connect them.
Step 6: Open the Bluetooth device list on Android. You will find Xbox One controller on the list. If you don’t see it, scan again.
Step 7: Tap on the Xbox Wireless Controller to begin pairing.
Step 8: The controller’s light with stop flashing once it is paired.
You can now use the controller to play games and use apps. Note that it is particularly useful for playing games but some apps might not respond to it.
