Looks like Android is tightening its grip on the Asian market as Google plans to open stores in India that will exclusively sell Android products. The store is called Android Nation and will be opened in New Delhi’s Select Citywalk mall occupying more than 1200 square feet of space. Android Nation store will sell android smartphones and tablets from manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony , Asus and others. Before India, Google opened two Android Nation stores in Jakarta, Indonesia which is said to be doing very well.
India is a big country with huge population and that is a market opportunity for Google’s Android. With this expansion, Google is making its presence felt deeper among the Indian consumers. Arch rival Apple already has stores in India. With reports that is Apple planning to bring a low cost iphone, maybe Google is trying to secure its market share through the Android stores.
