While it has not yet been confirmed what the C button actually does, there has been fan speculation regarding it. Some say it is a Chat button allowing for voice communication within the Community, while others speculate it could stand for Campus comparing it to the Wii U’s MiiVerse. There’s also a rumor that, the ‘C’ button will allow you to connect the console to your original Switch potentially for cross-play or data transfers.
Backward Compatibility and Game Library
Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch 2 will support backward compatibility. This means that the players will be able to play both physical and digital Switch games on the Switch 2. However, some games may not be fully optimized or compatible due to hardware differences.
While no game has officially been confirmed for the Switch 2, the January teaser did show some footage of a Mario Kart game.
Rumored Games for Nintendo Switch 2:
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
- Super Mario Odyssey 2
- Splatoon 3
- Super Smash Bros: Ultimate
- Metroid Prime 4
Joy-Con and Controller Enhancements
Nintendo is expected to bring significant enhancements to the Joy-Con Controllers on the Switch 2. One of the most anticipated upgrades could be the potential elimination of the infamous Joy-Con drift that gave a lot of users a headache on the original switch. Furthermore, Nintendo could also introduce haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, similar to those on the PS5’s Dual sense controllers.
Expected Pricing
While Nintendo has not officially announced the price of the Nintendo Switch 2, analysts predict the Switch 2 could be priced somewhere between $399 to $499, depending on the various storage options and hardware capabilities.
Conclusion:
The Switch 2 is set to build on the legacy of the original Switch, bringing hardware upgrades, new features, and exciting new games. With the reveal just around the corner, fans have a lot of anticipation and expectations with the Switch 2.
