Samsung has recently announced a new smartphone under the A series- Samsung Galaxy A7. Like the rest of the devices under the lineup, this phone also has solid all metal body, and is well slim.
The other specs of the Samsung Galaxy A7 are awesome as well. It features a 5.5-inches HD (1280×720 pixels) Super AMOLED capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 267 ppi. The handset is sleek, having dimensions of 151 x 76.2 x 6.3 mm and it weighs just 141 grams, which is pretty light given the dimensions. The phone will have 16 GB of internal memory with 2 GB of RAM and with an option of expandable storage option via microSD card upto 64 GB. For the processing power, there will be Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 or Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset, compiled with Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 or Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex- A15 CPU , and Adreno 405 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 13 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED Flash which can capture videos upto 1080p @ 30 fps, and a 5 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-Po 2600 mAh battery. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GLONASS, NFC and A-GPS. The phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of box with Samsung’s TouchWiz over it, and the company says that Lollipop for this device is on it’s way. The phone will be available three color options- Pearl White, Midnight Black and Champagne Gold.
The device thus, will be available in two versions- one with Snapdragon and another with Exynos, but both will be octa-core. The Snapdragon version will definitely have more features (such as LTE support and NFC), as Samsung always have been doing. The Exynos version, though only a 3G-only model, will have two SIM-card slots. The front camera of the phone will have features such as ‘Ultra Wide Shot’ and ‘Auto Selfie’, through which Samsung hopes it to be popular with the selfie lovers. With just the thickness of 6.3 mm, the handset is the slimmest offering with metal unibody to date. The Samsung Galaxy A7 also has additional features like Multi Screen app function capability and Private Mode, which are well suited for the company’s flagships.
The phone will be available by this quarter, and probably China is going to be the first market. Samsung has not revealed its price yet, but had said that it will have the competitive price, which would be around $400.
