OnePlus is doing the homeworks for the sequel of it’s massive hit OnePlus One. The next version of the OnePlus One, which certainly has the name as OnePlus Two will be launched by Q3 of 2015 (which ends in the month of September), according to the Director of OnePlus Global, Carl Pei.
After the official launch of OnePlus One in India, the Director of the Chinese newbie told BGR India that they are planning to announce the OnePlus Two in Q2, or Q3 next year. He also stated that India will be one of the first places, where the new smartphone will be launched.
The OnePlus Two will run a customized version of the Android 5.0 Lollipop, which will be the companie’s own, unlike the OnePlus One, which currently runs in CyanogenMod 11s. There were rumors circulating around before that the OnePlus Two will surprise all the users, when it comes to hardware.
Though none of the specs are known yet, it will for sure have the latest cutting edge hardware which will be available in the market then. Till now, there are very less leaks of the OnePlus Two, but with its official release date, we expect some of them to appear in the news. There are the rumors that it will be somewhat smaller in size than its predecessor, and the price will also be slightly higher. They will also probably improve the camera performance, as it is good but not great in the OnePlus One. It is also expected to have a microSD card slot, but will not have the wireless charging.
The OnePlus Two will also require the invites for the users to buy it, similar to its predecessor. It was the biggest negative points, and we hope OnePlus will address this and make users more convenient to buy its next big smartphone.
