Nokia X2 goes official with a 4.3″ Display

Nokia was a giant once, having about 40% of the smartphone market share worldwide, and it steeply went down after the raise of Android and iPhones. Nokia was somehow trying to struggle to exist with the Windows Phone OS in its Lumia series, which still wasn’t profitable for the company. Later it sold itself to the Microsoft, and it was in this year’s MWC that Nokia actually did a great job by pushing itself into the Android platform- the Nokia X and the XL, which were released then, were the steps for it.

Now, Nokia has moved a step further in the Android platform- it has released the Nokia X2- an upgraded version (a sequel actually) of the Nokia X. The new smartphone comes with the upgraded basic specifications, while many things remain the same. While the Nokia X had the Nokia X Platform 1.0 UI based on the Android 4.1.2 JellyBean, the X2 has the Nokia X Platform 2.0 UI, which is based on Android 4.3 JellyBean. The display size is enlarged- its a 4.3″ IPS LCD display now (the prequel had a 4″ Display), protected by scratch-resistant glass and featuring Clearback display but the screen resolution remains the same, which is 480 X 800 pixels giving a pixel density of 217 ppi. The Nokia X2 measures 121.7 x 68.3 x 11.1 mm in dimensions, having a weight of 150g (its actually heavier than its rivals).

The Nokia X2 now comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor, and is supported by an Adreno 302 GPU. This will be handled by a 1 GB RAM, and for the storage options, it has 4 GB internal memory, with a microSD card slot expandable upto 32 GB. The smartphone will be a dual-sim (both micro sims), and for the connectivity options, there will be 3G HSDPA support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 and  microUSB v2.0. The camera feature is also upgraded, it has now a 5 MP rear camera with autofocus LED Flash with video recording of upto 720p @ 30fps, and a VGA front camera for video calls. It has a 1800 mAh Lithium ion battery, which is 300 mAh larger than its prequel, giving it a talktime of upto 13 hours in 3G, and web browsing of 4 hours in mobile data. Its other features include FM Radio with RDS, free 7 GB OneDrive Storage and SNS integration. The phone will be available in Glossy green, orange black, yellow, white and  matt dark grey color options.

The phone has a nice featured specifications, and is also priced competitively (it costs €99 without taxes in the European market) but it has too much competition to face with the well established feature smartphones- Motorola Moto E and LG L65 D280, in the international markets.
