IOS 18

Apple company had released a new version of its operating system for smartphones and tablets – iOS 18. The newly launched iOS 18 by Apple aims to redefine innovation and customization with the best and most powerful combination of performance, intelligence, and customization, as a refined, incremental update of the operating system meant to improve everyday experiences. IOS 18 brings new brilliant under-the-hood improvements in privacy, AI synthesis, and cross-device compatibility. It makes the iPhone even more easily understandable while being compelling as a primary tool to its users. These are some of the features that are new with iOS 18:

1) Settings

IOS 18 has brought a neat design to the Settings app. There isn’t a master list showing all the applications installed on the device but there is now an Apps option, the last in the list of icons on the main screen of Settings. Above all, there is a search bar at the top of the Apps page to assist in finding particular apps.

2) Phone

Another is the possibility to record phone calls on the device with the current version of iOS 18, including the transcription of the conversation. To be more specific, Apple ensures that it informs the other party when recording the call by going into settings, selecting the phone, and activating the call recording feature.

3) Passwords

IOS 18 has moved the Passwords section from the Settings menu and includes its own application to help manage saved passwords. The first page contains a search bar at the top of the screen and then various tabs which include All, Passkeys, Codes, Wi-Fi, Security, and Deleted with the figure of items in those tabs on the right side of the tab.

Another feature available within the app is to share passwords and passkeys with other members of one’s household. Further, there is a button at the bottom for coming up with new passwords by typing in the necessary information on a separate page.

4) Locking an App

iOS 18 is here, and it brings the opportunity to lock unique applications, so you can only open them using Face ID, Touch ID or the device password.IOS 18 has moved the Passwords section from the Settings menu and includes its own application to help manage saved passwords. Also, there is a list of preinstalled applications that you cannot lock: Camera, Contacts, Find My, and Settings. Steps to lock an app:

Step 1: Swipe twice and hold the finger on the app icon or do the three single taps on the app.

Step 2: Under options, choose Face-id, and from the sub-menu, enable the Require Face ID so that to complete the process follow the voice-over directions.

Step 3: If you want to unlock an app, tap Don’t Require Face ID and verify with Face ID.

5) Control Center

The redesigned Control Center in iOS 18 now consists of three pages: These are Favorites, Now Playing, and Connectivity. A single tap to open a sub-Tab and a three-finger flick up or down to switch between the two.

At the top left of the screen, you will see the Add Controls and Power buttons. The Add Controls button has options for editing a control, deleting it, or even viewing more control options in the Control Gallery.

6) Messages

The Messages app has been receiving some upgrades. The latest improvement now allows to schedule I-Messages to be sent at a particular time or even date. To do this:

Step 1: Press the App button and then select Send Later.

Step 2: This will include sending messages that contain a date and time and will recommend this date and time, you can change this by swiping up or down.

Step 3: At the low level of the screen, there are pickers to set the date and time to your wanted area.

Step 4: Last of all, press the send button in order to set the message.

Also, the Messages app has enhanced Rich Communication Services (RCS) support meaning that enhanced messaging functionality is now available for Apple users. The MMS provides for conversations to comprise longer texts, audio, recorded videos, and recorded photos, the efficiency of delivery and read receipt indications, typing indication, and group conversations.

The tap-back feature has also been extended too. When exploring a message, swipe down to get the tap-back option. This leads to a menu with reaction options such as Thumbs Up, Question Mark, and Heart, and outcomes mobilization. You are also able to add additional emoji to the list of reactions.

7) Voice Memos

Whenever you record something with Voice Memos, the app will type it out for you. There is now also an option to record in stereo. By default, stereo recording is disabled. 8) Fitness and Fitness+

Newly launched iOS 18 Fitness app enables more Personalization on the Summary page. To edit the summary:

Step 1: Scroll down until you find the button Edit Summary in the right part of your site.

Step 2: When we hover over an item, flick up or down in order to pull up the delete option.

The Apple Fitness+ interface has been overhauled with four new tabs. Four tabs are available in the toolbar, and they are: You, Explore, Library, and Search. The Library tab cuts down the process of going back to the articles you have bookmarked. And the Explore tab organizes the activity into categories and subtopics.

9) Lock Screen

New options for the iOS 18 lock screen include additional options for removing the camera and flashlight icons. It can be removed with the help of the insertion of other alternatives.

10) Widgets on the Home Screen

Since the beta version, widgets can be located and placed on the Home screen. Remember each widget is equivalent to four app icons in terms of size. Depending on where you place a widget, some of the apps may outspring to the next screen in order to accommodate it.
