Laptop sound problems may be discouraging. For instance, when listening to a favorite song, attending a call, or watching a video. The good news is that there is an often quite simple solution to most of the sound issues you may come across. Here you will find a detailed guide on how to fix your laptop’s sound issues.

1. Check Basic Settings

The first one is to check that your laptop’s volume levels are not muted and can be heard. This can be achieved by right-clicking in the system tray, and the appearance of a speaker icon, and moving a slider. Examining the figure 2, also confirm that the right output device is properly connected. Click the third bar at the top right of the desktop and then click Sound Settings, ensure the right device is selected under ‘Output.’

2. Inspect External Devices

In case you are utilizing outside loud speakers or earphones, guaranteed they are well connected. For wired device ensure the wire is properly connected. If you’re going to use Bluetooth audio devices, then check whether the two devices are connected or not. At other times, all that is required is to unplug the device and plug it back in in order to solve the problem.

3. Use Windows Troubleshooter

Windows has a check that can with no doubt solve sound issues and you do not need to go searching for a third-party check. Click on the sound icon at the lower right part of the screen. Then choose on Troubleshoot sound problems from the pull-down options. This feature is mostly automated, so follow the next instructions if you are given to diagnose the problem.

4. Updating or Reinstalling the Drivers of the Audio

This is especially the case when one of the drivers for these devices is out of date or corrupted. Open the Open Device Manager with Win + X and expand the Sound, video, and game controller’s category. In the case of audio features, right click the audio device on your computer and update the driver either by letting the systems search for the respective updates. In case that does not occur, the best way to solve it is by uninstalling the driver and then rebooting your laptop. The driver for Webcam will be reinstalled If you click on the Windows.

5. Restart Audio Services

Open the service list by pressing the Win + R key, then, type services. MSc and hit the Enter. Go to services and look for Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, right click both and click restart. This I believe can help to refresh the audio system of your laptop.

6. Advanced Settings and Updates

Disable sound enhancements by right clicking the speaker icon on the System Tray and selecting Sound settings>clicking device properties> and unticking enhancements. Also, look for Windows update to update the system with the newest update, drivers etc.

In case, these measures do not work, then the problem may be of the hardware type and may need professional help. That is why with some punctiliousness most of the sound problems can be solved not to mention the additional stress which you do not want to experience on top of the cold, flu and hoarseness.
