How to disable bloatwares without Root in Android?

What is a bloatware in Android and how to disable bloatwares? It is just another useless app or function that you don’t need. The definition of bloatwares can vary from person to person, as a bloatware for a user can be useful to another and vice-versa. Usually, the bloatwares take a lot of space in your android phone (more than most of the apps that you have installed), and since you don’t use them most of the time, this is annoying. Worst part of these is that these take the major part of your RAM, which cause your phone to lag, even when you are not using most of those functions.

The bloatwares come pre-installed in the Android devices, and are a part of your phone’s UI. For example- in Samsung, there are bloatwares like Samsung Cloud Data Relay, Samsung Cloud Quota, Samsung Contact, SyncAdapter, Samsung Games, Samsung Hub, Samsung Link, Samsung Music, Samsung Push Serviceand all those that you never need (in other words, Samsung is the king of Bloatwares).

The point is, if you know how to disable bloatwares in your Android smartphone, you can free a lot of your phone’s space, RAM and processor usage, which can be utilized on something useful, such as successful lag-free usage of other apps, playing games and so on. We obviously can remove all the bloatwares in our Android smartphone if it is rooted, but not all android users are into that. Rooting can be a hassle process, and comes with a risk too. This has made the users not be able to remove the bloatwares even if they are willing to do so. However, there is a way to disable bloatwares in your Android smartphone or tablet, without having to root it.

Please note that this method that we are sharing here does not removes the bloatwares, this only disables them. The benefit of doing this is that you will not get any messages or push notifications from the apps that you don’t want. They will also not take over your RAM and Processor usage like before, and the good part that you can easily enable them back if you want to use them. That is to say, it is better to have them disabled rather than leaving them as they are and eating your system’s resources.

Follow these steps to disable bloatwares in your Android without root:

  1. Open your Settings app
  2. Scroll down until you find “Apps” or “Application Manager”, tap on it.
  3. Find the application you want to disable and select it.
  4. There will be an option to “Disable”.
  5. You should get a message warning you about the risks of disabling an app. Just press “Yes”.
  6. You are done! The app is now out of sight and no longer active.

There is also one more thing to remember: disabling a particular app (bloatware) of your phone might affect another app’s function too. So,  before disabling a particular bloatware, you better check which other apps does it affects, and if you need them or not. If you are good, then you better disable it. However, even if you disable an app without proper checking and find out that it has affected your phone’s basic functions and your daily usage, you need not to panic. You can enable it once again, and the process is easy.

After you have your bloatwares disable, if by chance if it happens that you need to enable them back, then also the process is the same. Go to ‘Apps’  from the ‘Application Manager’, and scroll down to bottom. The bloatwares that you have disabled can be seen lined up in the bottom of the list. Click on any of them which you want to enable back. The only difference is that when you go inside you will see the ‘Enable’ tab. Tap on it, and they will be alive and active and sucking your phone’s power once again.

For those that want to take it to the next level, you can always root your phone and there are then plenty of free root-enabled apps that will help you further eradicate the bloatware menace.
