MIUI 12 is the latest Android skin from Xiaomi. It is better than its predecessors in terms of visual and UI improvements. Xiaomi has improved MIUI’s dark mode, privacy, security, animations, and a lot more and packed it all on the new MIUI 12. MIUI 12 was announced back in December 2020 and is now rolled out to all the newest Xiaomi devices and most of the old ones too. MIUI 12 comes with a lot of new features, one of which is the ability to disable system apps without rooting the device. Let’s look at how to disable system apps in MIUI 12 without root access.
Disable System Apps in MIUI 12 Without Root Access
Before we begin, let’s start by talking about what improvements MIUI 12 has over its predecessors. The first notable UI feature is the sensory design. This means when you open up settings to check your storage or other system information, you will be presented with beautiful graphs and charts to make it easier for you to understand. There is also something called super wallpapers that are basically high-precision 3D models of some planets. There are new and better animations along with new gestures. These are only a few improvements.
How to Disable System Apps on MIUI?
Altering system settings and apps without the need for root access is a huge thing for average users. Power users will have no problem doing so but it requires a lot of knowledge that an average user doesn’t have. Follow the steps to disable system apps in MIUI without root access:
Step 1: Start by turning off dark mode. For some reason, it doesn’t work when the UI is in dark mode. So, if you’re currently in dark mode, then disable it from Settings > Display. Choose light mode and disable schedule dark mode just in case.
Step 2: Open Google Play Store. Tap on your profile picture to bring up the menu. Select Help and Feedback. This will open up a new screen with the title Support.
Step 3: Tap on Delete or disable apps on Android. Under Delete apps that you installed, tap on the first point. This will open up Apps settings.
Step 4: A screen will all your installed apps will appear. All you have to do now is find the system apps that you want to disable, tap on them and then press Disable. A warning will appear on the screen. Tap on Disable app and you’re done.
Thanks! It’s weird that it doesn’t work with Dark mode on, but as soon as I disabled it I was able to open that list of apps.
