Do you want something more from your gallery? Well, Cyanogenmod has just released a beta version of an app that will address the shortcomings of the AOSP Gallery (which has been replaced by “Photos” in Android Kitkat 4.4). The name of the app is GalleryNext and it does everything a gallery is supposed to do and much more. As mentioned in Cyabnogenmod’s official Google plus page, Gallery next has the following features:
- Pictures in one centralized location
- Integration with cloud services like Dropbox, Picasa, Flicr and Facebook
- Moments – which automatically groups and classifies your pictures and videos
- Gif image and Video Playback support
Since this app is in development phase, you can install and test the beta version of the app after joining the GalleryNext community in Google Plus. Here are the steps:
- Join the GalleryNext community here
- Now open this Google play link , become a tester
- Install the app
The final version of the app will have plenty of bug fixes and extra features such as Kitkat 4.4’s immersive mode user interface and picture editor. Currently, Quickpic is on top as the best gallery alternative, let’s see how GalleryNext will fare against its competition.
