After the deal that Micromax and Cyanogen made before, they have jointly announced a new smartphone- the Micromax Yureka, which consists of pretty good specs, and comes for a wonderful price. This is the first smartphone which is launched under the Micromax’s Yu brand, and will be exclusively available in the Amazon India website.
The Micromax Yureka stands pretty cool in case of the other specs too. It features a 5.5-inch HD (1280 X 720 pixels) IPS LCD capacitive display, which has a pixel density of 401 ppi. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well. The handset is obviously sleek, with dimensions 154.8 x 78 x 8.8 mm. The phone will have 32 GB of internal memory, and will have the expandable storage option via microSD card upto 128 GB. It will have 2 GB RAM, and for the processing power, there will be a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC compiled with a 1.5GHz octa-core CPU, and Adreno 405 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 13 MP Sony IMX135 primary camera with autofocus and LED Flash which can capture 24 fps burst mode videos, and a 5 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-Po 2500 mAh battery. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and NFC. The phone will run on CyanogenMod 11 operating system. The Micromax Yureka smartphone will only be available in Black color option.
The best part of this phone is its price, which is Rs. 8,999 (approximately $142). The Micromax Yureka will run on CM 11 (which is actually a custom ROM of Android 4.4 KitKat), and we can be confirmed that it will be definitely get the future updates, even sooner than other devices, since the CyanogenMod is the most stable ROM in the market now. This phone obviously has amazing specs for the price, but we are yet to see how the phone performs, and for this, we will have to wit till the official release. Let’s hope that the Indian users won’t miss the OnePlus One, since the deal between Micromax and Cyanogen is the only cause to get this phone banned in India. We also expect soon to see other phones under the Yu brand soon.
