Factory Reset Protection or FRP will lock you out of the phone if a factory reset was performed. Before you begin. Know that this may not be easy for those who have never flashed firmware on an Android before. It is not impossible for newbies but if you do not want to take the risk, you should take the device to the nearest service center with the proof of purchase and they will fix it for you.
For those want to do it on their own, follow the steps below;
Step 1: Prerequisites
- Samsung USB Drivers.
- The latest version of Odin.
- Combination File for your model.
- Firmware for your model.
Step 2: Open Odin
First, you need to flash the combination file that you’ve downloaded. Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable. Click on the AP button and navigate to the folder where you have downloaded the combination file. Select the file and then click on Start to begin flashing. You should now be able to access the Setting on your device. Move on to the next step. You can disconnect the phone from the PC for now.
Step 3: Enable OEM Unlock
To enable OEM Unlock, you should first enable Developer Options on your Galaxy S10. To do so, go to Settings > System > About Phone > Tap on Build Number 10 times. The Developer Options is not enabled. Now go to Developer Options and enable OEM Unlock.
Step 3: Factory Reset
You will need to perform a full system reset before flashing the firmware. To do so, follow the steps below;
- Power off the phone.
- Press and hold Volume Up and Bixby buttons, and then press and hold the Power button.
- After the Android logo appears, let go of the buttons.
- Press the Volume Down button several times to select ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
5. Press the Power button to confirm the selection.
6. Select Yes and press the Power button to initiate system wipe.
7. After it is complete, highlight ‘Reboot to bootloader’ and press the Power button to get to Download Mode.
Step 4: Flash Firmware
Reconnect the phone to the computer and make sure Odin is open. Extract the firmware files and follow the steps below;
- Select appropriate files for AP, BL, CP, and HOME_CSC.
- Hit Start.
- Wait for firmware flashing to finish.
Your Galaxy S10 you now be as good as new. You can now set up a Google account again and use the phone as usual. This is how you can bypass Factory Reset Protecting on Samsung Galaxy S10.
