LG has released a new smartphone under the Flex series- the LG G Flex2, a sequel of its previous LG G Flex. The new phone comes with the curved display which is smaller than its predecessor, but has Snapdragon 810 which makes it the world’s first smartphone to run on that chipset. The phone comes with several other upgrades as well.
The LG G Flex2 stands so high in case of the other specs too. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) curved P-OLED capacitive display which is protected by a glass developed by LG, and has a pixel density of 403 ppi. The handset is obviously sleek, with dimensions 149.1 x 75.3 x 7.1-9.4 mm (the variation in the thickness is because of its curved shape). The phone will be available in two versions- one with 16 GB of internal memory which will have @ GB RAM and another with 32 GB of internal memory which will have 3 GB RAM, and will have the expandable storage option via microSD card upto 128 GB. For the processing power, there will be a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset compiled with a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU, and Adreno 430 GPU for gaming and graphics. For the photography and videography options, this smartphone will have a 13 MP primary camera with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization and dual-tone LED Flash which can capture videos upto 2160p @ 30 fps, and a 2.1 MP secondary camera for video calls and selfies. The juice will be provided by a Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery. For the connectivity options, there will be LTE support, microUSB v2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and NFC (LTE model). The phone will run on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop operating system with LG UI 3.0 over it. The phone will be available in Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red color options.
LG has decreased its screen diagonal in the LG G Flex2, as compared to its predecessor, but has increased the resolution which is great. The glass developed by the company itself which used for screen protection in this phone is claimed by be 20% more durable than Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The back has a special self-healing coating – LG marked a massive improvement by cutting the heal time from 3 minutes to just 10 seconds at room temperature. The processor is Octa-Core and 64-bit as well, and hence we can guess the performance is going to be super-fluid.
The phone is said to launch in South Korea (where the manufacturer is from) at the end of this month, and nothing is said about its International availability yet. The pricing has also not been revealed, but we certainly do not expect this phone to be cheap.
