Imagine a day without your smartphone. You can’t, can you? Smartphones are used daily for a lot of things – listening to music, playing games, watching videos, calling your contacts and so on. So it is safe to say that smartphones are making our lives easier. Furthermore, there are apps on the store that can make your life a lot easier. Here are a few useful apps for Android.
Applock
Applock is probably on all or your primary device already. It is a free security oriented app that enables you to lock down your apps. Its job is to let you decide which apps you don’t want other users to access. If anyone tries to access a locked app, they are asked for a password. With Applock, you can also hide photos, videos and even incoming calls. It has a random keyboard and invisible pattern feature to ensure no one can guess them. If your device has a fingerprint scanner and is running on Android version 6.0 +, you can also use the fingerprint lock feature.
CamScanner
CamScanner has been on the store for quite a long time now. Yet it still is one of the most useful app to have on a smartphone. With this app, you can use your device’s camera to scan physical documents and convert them to PDF files. Then you can either choose to save it on your device’s storage, email it to a friend or even fax it for a small fee. Most of its features are free to use, but if you intend to use it heavily, there are a few features that you can pay for.
IFTTT
“If this, then that” is what CamScanner stands for. It is a simple app that allows you to create commands to carry out basic tasks. You can save images from Instagram and upload it to Google Drive, you can turn your smart lights on, save all your screenshots in a specific album, backup all your important files and photos on Google Drive or Dropbox automatically, set your home’s temperature to optimal when you arrive home and thousands of other uses. IFTTT is easily the most useful app available of the market if you want automation.
Financial Calculators
Financial Calculators is a useful app that can help you with a ton of calculations. You can use it to figure out simple calculations such as how much tip you owe to complex calculations like figuring out compound annual interests on a loan. You can use it to calculate credit card payoff amounts, economic inflation, among other things. It has a built-in currency converter, a ROI calculator and a compound interest calculator. And, you get all of these without spending a dime.
Google App / Google Now
The Google App or Google Now is an extension of Google Voice Search that does a lot of thing such as show you weather forecast, news based on your search history, etc. It has a lot of little tricks that will need a few uses to master, but in the end it’ll all be worth it. If your device has newer version of Android installed, you can access features like Google Now on Tap. Pair it will GBoard and you can use Google Search virtually anywhere.
