Instagram Tips and Tricks

However, it is important to note that these Instagram tips and tricks are listed with individuals in mind, not businesses. So, if you’re a recruiter trying to highlight your company’s culture or e-commerce marketers to those simply looking to utilize Instagram as effectively as possible, we have a different article for you.
Post Notifications
Consider turning on notifications for any Instagram accounts whose postings you would not like to miss. You will never miss any one of their Instagram posts if you do this.
There are two simple methods for activating notifications. Go to the user profile of the individual you’re following. Under their profile description, click the Following drop-down option, then select Notifications. You can then turn on notifications for posts, stories, and live videos.
Also, you can enable post notifications right from a user’s post. Press the 3-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the screen after tapping on a post, and then choose “Turn On Post Notifications.” By repeating these steps and choosing “Turn Off Post Notifications”, you may also turn off the notifications if you find them to be too much to handle.
Remove Tags
Do you frequently have a friend tag you in offensive memes or unpleasant photos? Fortunately, there are two workarounds for this problem.
First, select your username by opening the photo and tapping it. Once that happens, you’ll have two choices: Hide From Profile and Remove Me From Post. By selecting Remove Me From Post, the tag will be fully removed. Using the Hide From Profile option instead will not delete the tag but still will keep it hidden from your profile’s tagged photographs section.
Clear Search History
There are many different posts on Instagram, so you might not want your friends to know that you searched for certain things or anything else you would find embarrassing.
You can delete your search history by going to your profile, selecting the three bars in the top right corner of the page, and choosing Settings from the slide-out menu that appears. Then, after choosing Security, you will be sent to a screen with the words “Clear Search History” at the bottom. To get rid of all those odd search words, choose that option. Be sure of your choice before confirming because doing this will hinder Instagram from automatically filling in your usual search terms.
See Recent Likes
You don’t need to spend hours looking through your feed or even other people’s profiles to locate a picture that you’ve previously liked.
Simply visit your profile, and select Settings > Account > Posts You’ve Liked by clicking the three bars in the top-right corner of the screen. Upon selecting, a feed containing the posts you’ve liked will open, which you can browse at your convenience.
Use Less Data
Instagram uses your data quickly because it preloads photographs and videos automatically. You can use this tip if you have a strict data plan and do not want to go over it.
Go to your profile, hit the 3 bars in the top right, click Settings, tap Cellular Data Use, and then turn on Data Saver mode to reduce the volume of data that Instagram consumes. While photos and videos could take slower to load, total data usage will drop dramatically.
Add Multiple Accounts
Numerous Instagram accounts can be linked to a single phone without having to log in and out repeatedly.
Go to your profile, tap the three bars in the upper right corner of the screen, and choose Add Account to connect a new Instagram account. You can long-press the profile icon on the bottom left to switch different accounts. Also, double-tapping the same icon will quickly swap between the 2 recent accounts.
Using relevant hashtags is the key to success on Instagram. By doing so, you may interact with other users, discover new information, and make it easier for other users to locate your posts.
You can use apps like Hashtagify to increase the popularity of your postings. This website provides you with relevant hashtags based on whatever keyword you type. Use the hashtags #pet, #cute, or #animal, for instance, to draw more attention to the picture of your pet that you uploaded.
Filter Comments
Do you want to remove offensive or nasty comments from your posts? You may set Instagram to filter comments automatically so you don’t have to go through and delete each one by one.
Turn the Hide Offensive Comments setting on by going to your profile, clicking the 3 bars in the upper right corner of the page, then selecting Settings > Privacy > Comments. You can insert your own terms that you want to be concealed using the Manual Filter option.
Hide Story
One of the features of Instagram that you probably weren’t aware of is the option to hide stories because it frequently goes overlooked.
You can truly keep someone from seeing your stories if you don’t want them to for any reason. Go to your profile and tap on the 3 bars and select Settings > Privacy > Story. You can choose any undesired story-watchers by tapping on 0 People next to the Hide Story From option.
Archive Posts
Instead of deleting a post entirely, you can archive it if you wish to take it off your profile. Go to the post you wish to archive, choose Instagram from the menu in the top-right corner of the screen, and then choose Archive.
When you want to see an archived post, choose Posts from the dropdown menu at the top of the page by selecting Archive from the menu in the upper-right corner of your profile.
