Previously, we discussed the hardware test on two of our article “Secret Code To Test Hardware In Android Smartphone” and “How To Perform Hardware Test On Samsung Galaxy S-Series?”. Both of article focused on using Secret Code to carry out hardware test.
Let me remind you about the secret code. Secret codes are the combination of different special characters, numbers, and alphabets. As a result, They are numeric or symbolic. Some of the examples of secret codes are *#*#4636#*#*, *#*#0*#*#* etc. Secret Codes are the sets of instruction executed to perform a specific task on android smartphone. These codes are used to check if the devices are functioning well or not.
Secret codes are hidden features of Android so every user is not familiar with these codes. One must have a technical knowledge to use such feature. Since they are the combination of special characters, numbers, and alphabets it is quite difficult to understand what actually does it mean. Also, the use of codes without understanding can lead to loss of data or results in hardware damage.
Sometimes we need to check if our device is working well or not, you pull up the dialer and began to start entering the secret code but suddenly you forgot the code. Now, what will you do? What if your device performs the automatic test without typing any codes for you? It will be easy right? Don’t worry your device will help you out to test your hardware.
This article is about performing the hardware test on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Since I am focusing on XIAOMI Redmi note 4 it doesn’t mean other devices doesn’t contain automatic hardware test. The hardware test differs according to the manufacturer and you can easily perform the test on your device. This method will work on another version of Xiaomi Redmi devices too. If you have another device such as Samsung then I will suggest you try out once. It would be great if the method works.
Without delay Let’s get started. Follow these step to perform hardware test.
Go To Settings.
The first step is to go to the settings from your home screen.
Go To About Phone.
After you enter into the setting screen you will see About Phone option. Tap on the option to move further.
Find Kernel Version
You will see many options once you enter the About Phone screen. Scroll down the menu and find the Kernel Version. Then tap the Kernel Version until it triggers hardware screen. After that, a screen will appear where you can see a lot of options to perform the hardware test. Choose any of the options from the list that you want to test.
Testing Hardware
To test the hardware choose options from the list. Here I am testing the Torchled. To perform the test tap on the Torchled. While performing the test you will see two flashlights will opening alternately. If the torchlight is blinking alternately then the torchlight is working perfectly. Tap on the Pass button and it will move on to the next test.
Similarly, you can carry out the other test. If you pass the test then you will see the green tick in the option else you will see a red cross symbol in case of hardware test fail.
