Google has recently announced the Android 5.1 Lollipop officially, and it has not been long time that the changelog of the same was released. Now, the Nexus 10 starts getting Android 5.1 Lollipop update over the air, which makes this tablet the first tablet to get the update.
The Nexus 10 is getting a 104.4 MB file bearing OTA Android 5.1 update with LMY47D build. This version mostly brings performance tweaks, several bug fixes and under-the-hood changes to achieve stability, along with the performance enhancements, bug fixes and stability improvements. Users have also noticed that after upgrading the Nexus 10 to Android 5.1 from Android 5.0.2, their tablet boots up faster. There had been reports that the 5.1 has some memory leak issue, but Google seems to quietly fix this problem, since it is no longer reported by the users.
If you own a Nexus 10 tablet, you might already have got the notification, telling them that they can update to the latest version of Android OS. If not, there is no need to panic, as you should receive an OTA update notification soon. This is because the update will be rolled out in phases all over the world, and that means it might take a day or more to reach your Nexus 10 tablet, depending on the location you currently are. You can also check it manually by going to your tablet’s Menu >> Settings >> About Tablet >> System updates. If you have got it, you can download it but before installing, make sure that your tablet has at least 50% charge left, so that it does not get bricked by turning off in the process of updating. You would also like to connect to a WiFi network before downloading the update, since the file size is quite high.
