At CES 2014, Sony announced Xperia Z1s, which is the revamped version of its current flagship Xperia Z1. Barely few weeks after this announcement, images of the alleged successor of Z1 are already flooding the web. No, this time it’s not @evleaks but xda member iRimas who came up with the images and specs for a new Sony smartphone with a model number D6503. This device has a 5.2 inch display and runs on Android 4.3. According to iRimas, the D6503 runs on a new Xperia user interface currently in development phase.
However, the model number suggests that the device could be a refresh of Xperia ZL not Xperia Z1. However, on the back the D6503 does have the same 20.7 Megapixel camera as the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1C. Visible differences from Z1 includes, the speaker holes at the bottom, sim-card slot on the left, microSD slot on the right and the placement of the microUSB port.
We don’t know for sure whether the D6503 is Xperia Z2 but rumored specifications and release date of Z2 is already online. The Z2 will reportedly feature a 5.2 inch 2K resolution display, a quad-core snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM and a huge 3000mAH battery. Also, the D6503 is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean whereas the Z2 is likely to ship with Android Kitkat 4.4.
Sony devices are making a lot of leaks recently- stay tuned for more leaks on Xperia Z2.
