At CES 2014, Huawei Consumer Chief Executive Richard Yu announced the Ascend Mate 2 which boasts a “reverse” charging feature we haven’t seen in any other Smartphone in the market yet. Hence, if your friend’s phone is running out of juice and you have plenty, you can now charge your friend’s device via Ascend Mate 2. Along with this unique feature, the 6.1 inch Ascend Mate 2 also features an improved 5 Megapixel front facing camera enabling users to take high quality “selfies”.
Compared to Ascend Mate, the Mate 2 features advanced features such as a quad-core 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage expandable via microSD. Ascend Mate 2 also comes with a more advanced radio supporting 4G LTE support and it is also slightly thinner at 9.5mm.
