How to get Emojis on our Android Device

Emojis has become a part of our life. It helps us to express our feeling without having need to write a long sentences. Today’s people can’t imagine their life without the emojis, they use emoji in each and every moment of their life whether it is to express love, show anger, feel sad and many more. If we see today’s world then Android device is also incomplete without an emoji keyboard and it has become a must-have feature on our Android Devices.

It has been a while that Emojis was introduced in iPhone than Android. There are large collections of emojis which are pre-installed in iPhone but don’t worry Android users have plenty of other ways to access emojis on Android devices whether it’s through pre-installed or third party apps.

Here, I will let you know how to know whether our device supports emojis or not and how to get Emojis on our Android Device.

Step 1:  How to know whether our device supports emojis ?

search emojiSometimes when our iPhone friends send us some emoji in message, we receive a square box instead of emoji that means our Android device didn’t detect the emoji. It doesn’t mean our device doesn’t support emojis. As there are large collections of emoji in iphone there is possibilities that some of the emoji sent from iphone may not be recognize because android don’t have that particular emoji in its collection. As a result it show square. But if you want to make sure whether you device supports emoji or not, you just open Web Browser and search for “emoji” in Google. If you see emoji on your search results it means your device supports emoji but, if you see square box instead of emoji that means your device doesn’t support emoji.

Don’t worry if your device doesn’t support emojis, you can still get them by using a third-party social messaging app such as Viber, WhatsApp, Wechat etc. But remember these are social messaging app so you will only see emojis inside the apps. Any other text/SMS that you receive will not have emoji instead it will display square.

Step 2: Does your Device have iWnn IME?

Most of the latest Android Device comes with this feature called iWnn IME. You can find this feature on most devices running on Android 4.2 and higher. You just have to enable this built-in graphic keyboard called iWnn IME. Just follow the step to enable the feature:

  • Go to Settings >> Tap on Language and input (You will find this under personal)
  • You will see different options, find “iWnn IME (Emoji)”.
  • Check the option “iWnn IME (Emoji)”.

Now, when you use the Android Keyboard, you just press the spacebar and select “Emoji input method.”

Step 3: Download the third-party keyboard.

You can even download the third-party keyboard that has in-built emoji, if you device default keyboard does’t have in-built emojis. There are lots of keyboard apps available in Google play store. The most commonly used keyboard is Google Keyboard that has emoji built-in for any smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat or above. Other popular keyboard apps are Swiftkey, Swype, Minuum and Fleksy.

How to get emoji on Samsung keyboard

The latest version of Samsung Smartphone has built-in emoji, so you don’t have to download any third party keyboard app for the emoji. You can access the emoji of your Samsung smartphone by long pressing on the microphone button that appears to the left of the space bar. Also on some phones the microphone is replaced by a smiley face that gives you direct access to the emoji instead.
