It has been a while that Emojis was introduced in iPhone than Android. There are large collections of emojis which are pre-installed in iPhone but don’t worry Android users have plenty of other ways to access emojis on Android devices whether it’s through pre-installed or third party apps.
Here, I will let you know how to know whether our device supports emojis or not and how to get Emojis on our Android Device.
Step 1: How to know whether our device supports emojis ?
Don’t worry if your device doesn’t support emojis, you can still get them by using a third-party social messaging app such as Viber, WhatsApp, Wechat etc. But remember these are social messaging app so you will only see emojis inside the apps. Any other text/SMS that you receive will not have emoji instead it will display square.
Step 2: Does your Device have iWnn IME?
Most of the latest Android Device comes with this feature called iWnn IME. You can find this feature on most devices running on Android 4.2 and higher. You just have to enable this built-in graphic keyboard called iWnn IME. Just follow the step to enable the feature:
- Go to Settings >> Tap on Language and input (You will find this under personal)
- You will see different options, find “iWnn IME (Emoji)”.
- Check the option “iWnn IME (Emoji)”.
Now, when you use the Android Keyboard, you just press the spacebar and select “Emoji input method.”
Step 3: Download the third-party keyboard.
You can even download the third-party keyboard that has in-built emoji, if you device default keyboard does’t have in-built emojis. There are lots of keyboard apps available in Google play store. The most commonly used keyboard is Google Keyboard that has emoji built-in for any smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat or above. Other popular keyboard apps are Swiftkey, Swype, Minuum and Fleksy.
How to get emoji on Samsung keyboard
The latest version of Samsung Smartphone has built-in emoji, so you don’t have to download any third party keyboard app for the emoji. You can access the emoji of your Samsung smartphone by long pressing on the microphone button that appears to the left of the space bar. Also on some phones the microphone is replaced by a smiley face that gives you direct access to the emoji instead.
