Smartphones are no longer a luxury; it is a necessity. Go outside and look around you and you will see probably a dozen people on their smartphones right now. And since it has become a necessity, these smartphones are bound to have tons of sensitive information about its user inside it. It is your job to keep that sensitive information away from prying eyes. Moreover, if you live with someone or share the house with your family, you know how difficult it is to keep things private. Photos are on top of the list. In this article, we will focus on keeping your private photos safe; particularly if you own a OnePlus device. Here’s how to hide photos on OnePlus smartphones.
Hide photos on OnePlus smartphones
Before you begin, you will first need to update the OnePlus Gallery app. This is the app we will be working within this article. This app needs to be updated to the newest version. So, go ahead, open the Google Play Store app and update OnePlus Gallery. Alternatively, you can follow this link to update the app.
Step 1: From the app drawer or the home screen, open the OnePlus Gallery app.
Step 2: Press and hold on any photo that you want to hide. You can select multiple photos and images at once to make things easier for yourself.
Step 3: On the right-hand corner of the screen you will find a 3-dot menu. Tap on it to see its contents.
Step 4: Find and tap on Hide. You will get a pop up explaining what Hidden Collection is. Read if you want or simply press OK button.
To see the hidden photos on OnePlus Gallery;
Step 6: Open the OnePlus Gallery again and tap on the 3-dot menu located at the top-right corner.
Step 7: Top on Hidden Collection to access all the hidden photos.
As for now, there is no option to lock the hidden photos. The app will simply hide the photos. Hopefully, this will change and the app will be updated with a security feature. This is particularly useful when you are showing some photos to someone and they swipe a bit too far and see something they aren’t supposed to see. This will stop that. Now no more embarrassment.
