Google Play Edition Smartphones now get Android 4.4.3 KitKat update

All the Google Play Edition (not the standard edition ones, on which the smartphone brands have messed up with the Android Clean OS and customized it according to their own will) smartphones and tablets, to be named, HTC One, HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S4 are now getting the latest Android 4.4.3 KitKat update, which is provided by Google. The update is avialable via OTA firmware upgrade for the Google Play Edition devices. However, there is no any official statement for the firmware to be available on LG  G Pad 8.3 (it will be available very soon though, and it is for sure!). To get the update, the OTA should be hundred percent pure stock, with no any customization, as stated by Google and this is to avoid any issues during the update.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat update

The 4.4.3 version of Android KitKat OS was announced on June 2, 2014, which happens to be just two days ago. Immediately after the release, the first devices to get the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update immediately after its release were, the LG Google Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Asus Google Nexus 7, all by the T-Mobile. Later, Motorola started rolling out the 4.4.3 firmware upgrade for its Moto devices – the Moto X, Moto G, and the Moto E from third of June. Though the T-Mobile Nexus devices users were the first ones to get the update, other Nexus users are still waiting for the firmware to roll out over-the air.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is a minor update bringing a refreshed UI in the Phone app, plus critical bug fixes, stability and performance improvements. Motorola is also promising improved camera image quality for Moto X (better consistency of exposure, more realistic flash coloring, and improved photos in low light conditions using the front camera). Moto X and Moto G owners can expect a new pause/resume button on the viewfinder for taking a break when video recording.
